Republic of Armenia’s Presidential Elections

On February 18, 2013, the Republic of Armenia held its presidential elections. The international community once again viewed the elections as free and fair, and Serzh Sargsyan was reelected to office. In reality, elections were NOT free and fair. Bribery, ballot stuffing, voter intimidation, and rigged counting were very prominent throughout the entire election process across the country, giving Serzh Sargsyan the “win” over Raffi Hovhannisian.

Over the next few days, we’d like to encourage everybody to follow the interesting developments as they unfold in Armenia. Armenia’s citizens are fed up with rigged elections, and seek change. As Diasporan Armenians, the best way we can help is to be well-educated about the subject at hand.
