Meet the Interns (Part I)

Armen Nercesian

My name is Armen Nercesian.  I was born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan in a 100% Armenian family as the oldest of 3 children.  Growing up, I have always been a dedicated student and athlete, balancing school with either football or track and field.  I have also been very involved in the AYF since I was 10, holding several leadership positions along the way.  I study political science and mass communications at the University of Michigan, am a brother of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and a member of other groups/clubs.  Music has always been a strong passion of mine, one that has led me to become a DJ semi-professionally and try my hand in music production as well.  I hope to one day work in an industry that allows me to bring my enthusiasm for music together with my education, perhaps in public relations or management.  I feel that I have very good leadership and team working skills while also possessing the ability to talk, present, and write at an exceptional level.  I am a very passionate person whose mind is always churning with new ideas, and my self-motivation drives me to pursue them in all aspects of life.

Claudia Boyajian

My name is Claudia Boyajian.  I am from Upper Saddle River, New Jersey.  I am 20 years old, and my birthday is on June 25 (can’t wait to celebrate it with you all).  I am about to begin my senior year of college at Fairfield University.  I major in management and hope to someday be self-employed.  I’m not quite sure what I want to do yet, but some of the things that interest me are real estate and event planning.  I absolutely love the summer and the beach!  I have a 23 year old brother, Adam, and my parents’ names are Gary and Kihm.  I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, being outside, listening to music, and laughing/making other people laugh.  I also love sports; my favorite sport is basketball.  I consider myself to be a positive and optimistic person, and my favorite quote is “live in the moment.”  Being Armenian is the best gift I could have ever asked for.  I am really involved in the Armenian community and have been part of the AYF for 11 years.  I’ve also attended Camp Haiastan for the past 11 years both as a camper and staff member.  I love Camp with all my heart and consider it to be my home.  The AYF as a whole is a huge part of who I am and has evolved me into the person I am today.
