Where are our Interns Working?

This week, our interns began their volunteer service.  Let’s get to know where they’re working this summer.

Armen Nercesian
Internship:  Repat Armenia (www.repatarmenia.org)
Mission:  To take the concept of active repatriation promotion to the next level.  With a full time, dedicated staff based in Yerevan and a network of supporters and representatives throughout the Armenian diaspora, our mission is to inform, initiate and actively champion the return of high-impact (professional, entrepreneurial) individuals and families to Armenia to secure the future development of the Armenian nation.

Claudia Boyajian
Internship:  Armenian Development Agency (www.ada.am)
Mission:  To 1) promote foreign direct investment in Armenia, 2) provide services to foreign investors seeking to start a business in Armenia, 3) promote Armenian exports, 4) aid and develop the investment and business climate of Armenia, and 5) support the development of information technology in Armenia.

Hagop Simonian
Internship:  Armenian UN Association (www.auna.am)
Mission:  To 1) actively popularize the principles and activities of the UN and its specialized agencies, 2) participate in civil society building and developing democratic processes, 3) operate as an active defender and promoter of human rights, 4) spread ideals of non-violence and peace-building, 5) promote world peace and cooperation; to participate in global problem-solving, 6) actively cooperate with local, foreign and international NGOs and institutions in dealing with problems of global peace, sustainable development and human rights protection to uphold the ideals of cooperation and unity, and 7) contribute to the development of NGO sector in Armenia.

Kenar Charchaflian
Internship:  Children of Armenia Fund (www.coafkids.org)
Mission:  To secure a future for children in Armenia’s impoverished rural villages through improved education, health care, community life and economic conditions.

Kyle Dinkjian
Internship:  EV Consulting (www.evconsulting.am)
Mission:  To serve companies and industries aspiring to move to the next level of competitiveness and innovation in Armenia by partnering with senior executives and business leaders to identify their next level of development.  Such partnerships are established in diverse and critical areas of management challenges; from spotting market opportunities, to helping raise capital through designing and implementing complex management systems.

Nairi Khachatourian
Internship:  Ghoghanj Children’s Center (www.paros-foundation.org/project_ghoghanj.html)
Mission:  To provide the proper support and guidance children need to excel in school and become self-confident and respectful young adults.

Shant Douzdjian
Internship:  Norq-Marash Medical Center (Observership) (www.nmmc.am)
Mission:  To expand both the quantity and quality of treatment of cardiovascular diseases in Armenia through innovation and hard teamwork lead by Hakob Hovakimyan – a leading cardio-surgeon from Albert Starr Academic Center (USA).

Sosy Tatarian
Internship:  Children of Armenia Fund (www.coafkids.org)
Mission:  To secure a future for children in Armenia’s impoverished rural villages through improved education, health care, community life and economic conditions.

Taleen Kurdian
Internship:  Dr. Matikyan Dental Clinic (Observership) (www.matikyan.am)
Mission:  To provide affordable dental care using state-of-the-art technology under the leadership of Dr. Karo Matikyan.

Tamar Alexanian
Internship:  Orran (www.orran.am)
Mission:  To 1) divert children from the streets and engage them in academic, cultural, and extra-curricular activities, 2) fight the concept of beggar children as the principal breadwinners of their families, 3) help families “in a crisis,” 4) assist the lonely and needy elderly, 5) identify and develop children’s interests and talents toward a working career, and 6) prevent the spread of destitution and begging among Armenia’s children and elderly.
